Resurfacing of roads in Ferndale, Tygervalley and Epping

28 October 2024

The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate would like to advise members of the public of roadworks along various roads in Ferndale, Tygervalley and Epping. This resurfacing starts today, 28 October 2024, until Wednesday, 11 December in Ferndale, until Monday, 25 November in Tygervalley and until Friday, 6 December in Epping.

In Ferndale, the roadworks will be along Frans Conradie Drive between Stellenberg Road and Brackenfell Boulevard and in Tygervalley along Mispel Road between Carl Cronje Drive.

For both Ferndale and Tygervalley, the work will be done between 09:00 and 17:00, Monday to Friday. The daytime work entails the installation of kerbs and channels as well as repair works on the edges of the road from 19:00 until 05:00 for asphalt resurfacing.

In Epping 2, the roadworks will be along Bofors Circle between Viking Road and the old railway bridge between 07:30 and 17:30, Monday to Friday. The work comprises the milling and removal of the existing road surface. The road will then be replaced with a new layer of asphalt. All road markings removed during the process will be reinstated.

‘We would like to thank all road users in these areas for their patience. The resurfacing of existing roads forms part of the City’s road maintenance system that ensures that we prolong the longevity of the City’s road network. Please pay attention to road signs and be vigilant in and around the roadworks area as we work towards keeping Cape Town moving,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
